5 Elements Martial Arts Basildon was established in 1999
and is owned and run by Tony Willis
When Tony founded 5 Elements in 1999, he wanted it to be different—focused on helping every member and staff reach their full potential.
"My team and I are passionate about what we do. We genuinely care about our students and want to see them excel in life."
— Tony Willis MBA MSc
For us, martial arts isn’t just a hobby; it’s a way of life. We’re dedicated to helping our members achieve their goals, both on and off the mat. We aim to provide the highest standards of martial arts training while also developing the mental discipline and strength of character that martial arts is known for.
Our Academy has a friendly and supportive atmosphere, but it’s also structured to ensure a safe and effective training environment. We’re proud of the welcoming and supportive culture that Tony envisioned from the start—a culture where members encourage and challenge each other to grow.

"Both my boys have been going to 5 elements since they were 5 years old, started in the dragons class and progressed into the juniors. Not only have they learned so much in this combat sport they are much more confident in anything they do.
They hate to miss any class and love the recognition they get through their grading. Coaches are always friendly and Brilliant with the kids. Couldn't recommend them enough"
"My son has been going 5 elements for nearly 6 years from dragons to juniors now with the fight team his confidence has grown massively, made some really good friends and loves the family atmosphere."
"All three of my children have been attending 5 elements for a couple of years now and love learning new skills and earning badges and belts. It's not just about earning belts though, it's about learning discipline, good behaviour, helping others and making new friends all of which my children have gained from attending 5 elements martial arts.
The behaviour forms in little dragons/ life skills for juniors are fantastic ideas to promote excellent behaviour all of the time not just in lessons. My kids have not just learnt kickboxing but have become more confident caring individuals since they joined 5 elements."
